Baby 'Power' is what we have

The only power we were existing on is Baby Power...Amaya's salute to life comes in a variety of forms. While feeding she winds the clock, getting dressed she bobs and weaves and entertaining the adoring fans Amaya flashes her signature Baby Power.

Since Friday morning Amaya had the task of putting on a solo performance as Upstate New York was a bit short of power. Papa Cornman missed his computer and sports as he kept the family warm with his well stocked woodpile. Grandma Cornman planned emergency cold measures while wondering what else Sarah Palin will do to make us giggle and Daddy Sharma was getting cell phone withdrawals while preparing salads and making everyone comfortable. Amaya and Mama sat back and practiced blowing bubbles, cooing and have evolved their act from squeaking to squealing. Grandma Cornman has once again shown the troupe a new trick and Amaya is now busy sticking her tongue out at all and sundry especially if its the National Grid electricity people. She gave a few extra for worrying her Dada and Dadi Sharma in India. :P

Dr. Morin is very pleased with the "precocious" Amaya and has commended her on her ability to track objects and strong neck muscles which allow her to take an active interest in her surroundings. Although, she does like looking at people out of the corner of her eyes while pretending not to be interested (a la Mama). She loves falling asleep to her father's Hindi songs and has long ago learned to self soothe with her thumb. The real sucker though is her father who she easily tricks into picking her up as she indulges in some fake crying which stops as soon as she spots him leaning over to pick her up (which he does anyway and happily at that). Amaya still has her father's appetite though she is now sleeping even longer hours in between feeds. Her current record stands at a staggering 8.5 hours of sleep between meals on her 2 month birthday after brave bout with her inoculations.

Christmas is coming and with it a lot of excitement as Amaya prepares to meet her cousins Adam and Kiera as the Cornmans and Sharmas celebrate their first Christmas together. Santa don't be late!

December is here and so is daddy...

Amaya loves the month of December. Not only did her dad come home, but the snow is falling.
